H.323 Solution Description

The TransNexus OSS/BSS solution supports Cisco’s proprietary GKTMP protocol for direct management of Cisco gatekeepers and the OSP protocol for direct management of Cisco gateways without a gatekeeper.  Installation and configuration is simple – register the OSPrey route servers with each Cisco gatekeeper and immediately the gatekeepers use the TransNexus solution for call routing, least cost routing, number translation, access control and call detail record reporting.  NexOSS provides centralized and easy to use applications for route provisioning, traffic analysis, QoS management, settlement billing and credit control.

Multiple OSPrey route servers may be registered with multiple gatekeepers to create a highly reliable system with no single point of failure.  The diagram below illustrates a typical network architecture where NexOSS Route Provisioning is used to manage multiple zones and interconnection with external networks.

Highly scalable, the OSPrey Server provides routing for intra-domain calls and inter-domain calls, allowing directory gatekeepers to be redeployed as zone gatekeepers.  The OSPrey manages LRQ communications with external gatekeepers for inter-domain calls with partner networks.  Digitally signed inter-domain tokens may be used for added access control security between VoIP clearinghouses.  The OSPrey server can also provide routing and access control for calls with partner gateways that are not registered with a gatekeeper.

Call detail records are streamed to OSPrey directly from each gatekeeper eliminating the need to configure each gateway to report RADIUS call detail records to a separate RADIUS server.  Simplified management of routing, access control and call accounting combined with profit optimizing features such as least cost routing, QoS routing and automated credit controls guarantee to increase your profits.

The OSPrey router server also supports SIP - providing a single network operations center for both SIP and H.323 gateways.
