TransNexus to Host the European Telecommunications Institute

(Atlanta, GA - September 23, 1999) — TransNexus, the industry leader of standards-based clearinghouse solutions for IP Telephony traffic, is hosting the ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) Working Group at the Georgia Center for Advanced Telecommunications Technology in Atlanta. ETSI, the current leading force behind the adoption and promotion of global Internet Telephony standards and the driver of European telecom standards, established the TIPHON project (Telecommunications and Internet Protocol Harmonization Over Networks), as a response to the urgent need for universal, common solutions for voice and fax communication over IP networks.

Industry Leaders Advance IP Telephony Standard

(Atlanta, GA - September 2, 1998) - Industry leaders 3Com Corporation, Cisco, GRIC Communications, iPass, and TransNexus have teamed up to promote inter-domain authentication, authorization and accounting standards for IP telephony through the Open Settlement Protocol (OSP). OSP allows a clearinghouse to provide call routing and authorization between carriers. In addition, OSP provides usage reporting through call detail records.  Without OSP, there is no open standard solution to perform these functions.
